• Descendants of the Delta...............They are angry!

The younger generation of descendants of the Delta felt cheated! Yes, why won’t they? Several analysts have had to ask. They have devised new ways of  pouring their annoyance on the‘rulership’ of a country where a handful few people who found themselves in the corridor of power amass wealth through graft amid millions of poor who are angry with the way oil resources are being controlled and managed.

• Once a peaceful Delta has turned a shadow of its past. Violence, hostage- taking, high level criminality, insecurity and a host of other fearful vices have spread across the south of the Delta, Nigeria's oil-rich wetland.
• But the story must be told!
• Making photographs in the delta is difficult with the current fear that pervades the militant-owned long,strectched creeks of the Delta .A cameraman is a spy! He works for Shell, Agip or the government…….then, he must be dealt with! If not, why must he come to photograph us? To see the faces of the new militants who are just 20 or 25? The foot-soldiers who would want to have a share-cut of the ‘national cake’ by taking the expatriates hostage for a ransom…yes, ransom in millions of US Dollar!
•  But in all, these pictures tell a story of why the descendants of the Delta are all angry!
